I don’t know why it is sometimes so hard for me to remember how much “say” I have in certain situations. It may be because there are so many things that are out of my control, my first instinct is to give it all up. When I get to the point where I feel like everything is out of control, I take a step back and remind myself who is in charge.
How often do we take our hands completely off when we see that a situation is becoming too much? There are definitely times when we need to fully let go, but they aren’t as often as most of us think. A lot of times we just need to readjust and focus on what we can control. I couldn’t stop my perimenopausal weight gain, but I could make the decision to keep moving my body and search for the right health care provider. You may not be able to pick every single project you are involved in at work, but you can make the decision to always give your best effort and position yourself for the next level. You may get stuck somewhere and have no choice but to eat fast food, but you can still be intentional about taking time to look at the menu and make mindful decisions. You may not have anticipated that friendship or relationship changing in a way that doesn’t serve you, but you can limit and / or remove their access from your life.
I want to know, “Who Runs This?” We are on this journey together and our “I Choose Me.” slogan makes a lot of people uncomfortable. It is because they know that when it comes to us … they don’t have the final say! We get to decide how we want to take care of our bodies. We get to decide how we want to show up for work. We get to decide how someone’s actions make us feel. We also get to decide who we do “life” with. You are the boss and I’m here if you need me.
Your style is unique compared to other people I’ve read
stuff from. Thank you for posting when you have the opportunity, Guess I’ll just
